fun fact—before going rogue & becoming a photographer...
I was a primary school teacher.
But when I rekindled my past love for photography, there was a spark of an idea that came not long after.
I'd always wanted to build a business where I could do school drop off/pick up, be in charge of my income, & create REAL impact for others by doing something I love so much.
Cue: STEEP learning curve! Trying to figure out HOW to grow a successful business & brand with a young family under my feet & a husband who works away was no walk in the park.
So, I did what most of us do: I listened intently to the slew of photography business cOAcheS out there who were giving the same generic, soulless, formulaic marketing + brand advice to EVERYONE.
Inevitably? MaRKeTiNg felt like I had to regurgitate the same ol' shit that everyone else was saying and doing in order to fit in & get booked + busy.
My business (& my marketing) looks nothing like it did then, nor should it.
It’s been 7 years, and I’ve now worked with hundreds of creatives who have decided to take the same path. They are building their businesses, wanting to lead their brands, & trying to fit it all around having an actual life.
They are busy - but they still crave to move forward, to grow.
They want to work with aligned clients that appreciate their skills. They want their brand to be the one their people need to work with.
They want to feel confident about how they show up. They want to know things are happening for them.
The hardest part for them? Feeling like they have their brand + marketing shit together, AND feeling really good (vs. really cringe) about putting it all out into the world. So Soulful Story Co. is the space for exactly that.
